Not knowing much about blockchain at all (having only once seen the option to click a "token" box on the front page of the web site of my credit card company), I signed up:

Hi Julian,

Thanks for this invitation. I accepted your invitation and signed up with this email address - EMAIL ADDRESS - ... am interested to see how this blockchain information technology works.

Looking forward to communicating further (and re this as well - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2018/03/march-10-2018-agenda-for-wuas-open.html ).

Cheers, Scott

I found this video (below) about Dock.io edifying:

Hi Julian,

Have you seen this video about Dock.io - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ybZ3ABRyAI ?

Hi Julian,

Thanks for this invitation to dock.io (right at the close of WUaS monthly business meeting yesterday), which I accepted.

To learn more, after accepting the invitation, I watched this video from Victoria:

ICO Review: Dock.io (DOCK) - Decentralized Professional Data Exchange
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ybZ3ABRyAI

Then I looked up Victoria and CrushCrypto here -
https://crushcrypto.com/about/ (and posted this below) -

I enjoyed hearing Victoria Wong in the above Dock.io explanatory video on the blockchain. Looks groundbreaking and potentially earthshaking. First question, in sharing my EMAIL ADDRESS contacts with them - part of the networking effect - how do I know whether I trust them per Gmail's message to me when I did this? I'm posting CrushCrypto's team information, including with Victoria Wong below. They seem to be leading the pack, and importantly have an education focus re the blockchain.

It's a new world we're entering.

Thanks, Scott

Blockchain for recruitment?

dock.io is a decentralized data exchange protocol that lets people connect their profiles, reputations and experiences across the web with privacy and security.

About dock.io

The dock.io protocol is a decentralized data exchange protocol, intended to incentivize the exchange of shareable personal data, with a focus on professional information such as work experience, connections, and reviews. Dock.io is poised to disrupt the space of centralized professional networks such as LinkedIn, Upwork, or Glassdoor, and the fragmented user experience they provide, by enabling users to have control over their data and share it easily across applications, without being bound to any particular platform. Using the dock.io app, users will input signed and verified content and choose where it, as well as data received from other platforms in their name, is shared. Applications will be required to pay other applications with tokens in order to access their user based data. Only applications, not users, will be monetarily incentivized to share data; users will benefit from having control over their data. Dock.io is developed by Remote.com, a platform that connects professionals with remote and freelance jobs using artificial intelligence, with over 2 million users. Integration of dock.io with Remote.com (as well as additional unspecified partners) is planned for Q2-2018.

Looks like Dock is a "professional competitor to recruitment industry ..."

Ratings

We assign the Dock.io project a Stable+ rating.
Dock.io is a blockchain project operating in one of the most frenetic and fastest growing areas of the crypto industry - that of internet data. Dock.io is a decentralized platform for the exchanging of recruitment data, data regarding user activity on social media and social applications based on the Ethereum blockchain protocol.
The project is managed by an experienced and competent team with a reputable background. The team's background will serve as the foundation for implementing dock.io, including the integration of the remote.com user database into the new project (consisting of 2.5 million people). This will facilitate the project’s entry into a highly competitive market.
DOCK tokens are utility tokens, implementation of which is justified by genuine needs within the ecosystem. The team has carefully worked out the economy of the token, excluding any speculative elements. At the same time, DOCK tokens will be interesting to long-term investors due to their built-in combustion mechanism.
The risks for the project lie in the technological and competitive areas. We also point out that the team has not provided any information regarding the project’s economy or a plan for the allocation of funds raised. This prevents us from assessing the viability of the concept from the economy angle.

General information about the Project and ICO

Dock.io is a blockchain project in one of the fastest growing areas of the crypto industry - that of internet data.
Dock.io is a decentralized data exchange protocol aiming to transform the professional industry. On the one hand, dock.io provides encryption of information, protects data during storage and transfer and limits the possibility of its leakage; on the other hand, it enables recruiting companies, applications and users to exchange data quickly and is also responsible for its completeness.
Dock.io is aimed at a professional audience in the recruiting market, professional advertising and marketing applications at various levels from large corporations to the blogger community. Dock.io provides solutions for data collection when interacting with existing professional networks not having incentives to or not wishing to distribute their statistics.
Data collected by dock.io, such as work experience, education, location, contacts, qualifications, activity, statistics, work results, certificates, portfolio, etc., will be integrated and transferred to user profiles. When accessing the profiles, different platforms will be able to share data with other platforms via the dock.io protocol subject to the approval of the particular user.
Dock.io will enable a user to synchronize  employment records, evidence and confirmation in one protocol. In this case, users will be able to moderate in updating and moving data between different platforms.
Platforms and applications, whilst gaining paid access to protocol data, will at the same time be data providers. Blockchain will allow the provision of encrypted data storage and control over its transfer. Ethereum also provides the basis for ensuring voluntary exchange of data between various parties.
Thus, dock.io is aimed at creating a professional competitor to recruitment industry giants such as LinkedIn, Upwork and Glassdoor.
As a blockchain project, dock.io is staging its ICO not only to attract funding (although this is the main goal), but also to ensure transactions within the developed protocol. The dock.io token carries utility functions which include access to the protocol, the calculation of rewards, and an opportunity to participate in the management of the project’s strategic development.

The legal structure of the project’s shell company, its name, organizational and legal form and country of registration are not disclosed at this stage of the project.

When Victoria Wong says in the risks section at the end that this is a positive investment opportunity for flipping, I wonder how one could bring excellence to this infrastructure - and how extensible this is to multiple areas of industry, and higher education?

*
Could MIT, for example, hire this team - or Victoria, who has such a great overview of the complexity of this, and how it all fits together?

*
And can this blog post bring Dock tokens to my new Dock profile, as suggested in Victoria's video?

*
And how could individuals using Dock add a specific edX / HarvardX / MITx course, a Stanford Coursera course, or a single course from World University and School to this - and a course taken in one of ~200 countries' official languages?

*
Furthermore, could matriculated students even engage Dock.io as a transcript on the CC-4 MIT OCW-centric side ... leading into a career ... (and re WUaS Co's planned Human Resources - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2016/01/14-planned-wuas-revenue-streams.html ) ... and even, if hired by WUaS get paid in a new CryptoCurrency, post US dollar (not dock tokens)?

*
Seems like there's a teaching opportunity here with Dock.io ... Who there might enjoy teaching this? Victoria? Others?

*
Added this below the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ybZ3ABRyAI - per Victoria's invitation:

Thanks, Crush Crypto and Victoria, Blogged about this - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/03/himalayas-dockio-blockchain-for.html - and re World University and School, which is like Wikipedia in 298 languages with CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare in 5 languages. Is there a way to add this blog entry to my newly created Dock.io profile? Cheers, Scott

*
And conceptually, how best to engage something like Dock.io blockchain for recruitment to become the Harvard / MIT / Stanford / Oxbridge of the internet in each of all ~200 languages, and in all 7,097 languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning?
