Angiosperms: Aside from potential positive connotations/generations of 'community' (in the senses of connectedness and 'communitas') on the Web, and pragmatically here, a good place to begin 'language communities' in each of all 7097 living languages (per Ethnologue, and re "mutual intelligibility" as a simple definition of language), could be in a combination of G+ with Google Hangouts, VIDEO as Minutes? - May 12, 2018 Agenda for World Univ & Sch's OPEN monthly business meeting

Wikipedia is in 301 languages, with 291 being active ... (but I agree somehow that they aren't accessible in a wiki 'fast' way any longer, being somehow siloed ) ... an opportunity to create 7097 living languages' wiki communities via WUaS as I see this)

And wiki too makes this possible (e.g. https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects)

This could involve moderators (eg the woman from Texas who started the 'Language Practices Hangouts' or similarly named group which is large, still active, and from which she has withdrawn) and teachers (eg Peter Bothe). From these groups, translators and coders for an universal translator could emerge too. And WUaS would eventually seek to hire from such groups too (which Wikipedia has donectoo from their volunteer communities). And the IT architecture of G+ is still fairly "wiki" fast, and open. Creating a kind of Stanford culture - which I'll call excellent, kind of hippy California open (even in the 2010s), and laid back too - could have merit in such language communities too. Shall we explore this idea further thinking through how we could best grow the Romanian language Hangout which meets on Saturdays (and +Peter Bothe 's English and German Hangouts) as examples - perhaps even with topics such as someone like +Ajit Mishra from India - but eg a MIT Professor or Romanian teacher - talking about Logistics in a Hindi language communitu group, as an example of a pragmatic & business topic)? World University and School might reach out through such language communities to let prospective students know of degree possibilities too. Would you be available to talk further about this in today's WUaS Monthly Business Meeting at 9am Pacific? I'll add this to the agenda nevertheless.
